I am now attending the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign to study Computer and Information Sciences, focusing on big data. As most of my life revolves around math, I feel as if I am most strongly suited to tutor math, and I believe I am the best at it. My teaching style is uniquely crafted based on each student's needs, but I help students learn methods to solve problems that help them find the solution substantially faster than any other method.

I am a second year student at Dartmouth College studying math and computer science. I have tutored computer science courses for Dartmouth's Tutor Clearinghouse. Prior to coming to Dartmouth, I studied violin at Juilliard Pre-College for six years. I am an avid fencer and I am currently on the Dartmouth Fencing Club Team. I am fluent in German and enjoy traveling around Europe. I also enjoy spending time hiking and riding my bike in the area surrounding Dartmouth.

My varying interests in the field of kinesiology have driven my experience in academia as a student, a teacher, and a research investigator. In addition to required courses, I chose electives in sports psychology, statistics, endocrinology, and strength and conditioning. As a graduate assistant, I’ve had the opportunity to teach labs in anatomy, exercise testing and prescription for healthy and clinical populations, strength and conditioning, and exercise physiology. I am proficient in the use of common laboratory testing devices such as the metabolic cart, force plate, lactate analysis, and EKG. As a research investigator, I have had the opportunity to work on projects relating to cardiology, sports psychology, and human performance under the tutelage of Dr. Darren T. Beck and Dr. Disa L. Hafield. I became proficient in the use of Finapres technology to measure stroke volume, heart rate, and blood pressure as a member of Dr. Beck’s research team. We studied the effect NormaTec compression boots have on acute cardiovascular changes, due to the restriction of blood flow to the legs. NormaTec boots are of interest to exercise physiologists because of their potential to decrease recovery time and enhance performance. Under the mentorship of Dr. Hatfield, I investigated the relationship between sleep, burnout, and performance in collegiate female runners. I saw this as an opportunity to investigate the psychological contributions to performance. The results of this analysis were presented at the New England ACSM as part of the graduate student award competition. Under Dr. Hatfield, my master’s thesis is a joint study with the University of Rhode Island’s nutrition department in the use of caffeine as an ergogenic aide for recreationally weight-trained males. Specifically, the effect of caffeine on power production assessed via force plate and Tendo-Unit.

I've always loved learning, but I often needed someone to remind me why. I want to be that person for other students. I've taught Spanish in America and English in Panama, India, and Morocco. I was a part of the esteemed Arabic Flagship Program at the University of Oklahoma where I tutored students in various dialects of Arabic until I graduated with degrees in Arabic and Linguistics. My favorite subjects to teach are anything related to language, e.g., reading, writing, speaking...if it has words, I'm excited! Linguistics is my passion. i also love teaching the study and organizational skills i struggled to learn from scratch in college. I know from experience as a neurodivergent student that a patient teacher and a personalized approach makes all the difference in the learning experience. I work to make all material exciting and achievable for each student so they feel that they are truely learning, and they enjoy it. I'm a firm believer in the benefits of life-long learning, and the earlier a student finds a passion for it, the more fulfilling their life will be, but that it's never too late, either.When I'm not studying languages, i enjoy reading, the violin, climbing (anything and everything), and creating the perfect habitat for each of the bugs and critters i catch. If you ever see me running, something is chasing me. I much prefer yoga.

I am a German-American who has found a passion in knowledge. My greatest passions are found in music: guitar, violin, singing; and language: English, German, Italian, Spanish. Throughout the years, I have stretched my mind across the vast plains of many subjects, including psychology, phylosophy, viticulture, history, literature, business sciences, and more. I am not, however, always to be found behind a book or in a library. I have been the captain of my old baseball and basketball teams, won table tennis tournaments, and enjoy billiards, golf, swimming, biking, and other athletic activities. After all, a healthy body helps support a healthy mind.In terms of experience, I have tutored people from ages 10-22 for about five years in German, English grammar, English composition, study skills, mathematics, guitar, and violin.I currently study Entrepreneurship and International Business at Johnson & Wales University. I enjoy every second there and my joy is depicted in my GPA (4.0/4.0). I learn because I sincerely want to; knowledge IS power, and I feel myself strengthen every day. I believe that everybody can strengthen themself if one simply applies sincere will with effort. The perceived value of knowledge seems to be declining in today's youth; I hope to revitalize it.My greatest personal goal is to offer my satisfaction in my death; I wish to look back upon my life with the serene knowledge that I leave the world a better place than as I entered it.In order to best help others one must teach the willing how to help themselves.
