Hi! I'm passionate about helping students discover the power of critical thinking and genuine understanding in the humanities. As a Duke University graduate with a double major in Economics and History, I've experienced firsthand how transformative excellent education can be and I'm committed to sharing that with my students.

My Background

During my time at Duke, I worked as a peer tutor in both chemistry and economics, which taught me how to break down complex concepts for students with different learning styles. I also volunteer tutored in high school across various subjects, giving me years of experience connecting with students and adapting my approach to meet each person where they are.

My Teaching Philosophy

I believe in patient, curiosity-driven learning. In our increasingly digital world, I'm concerned that students are missing out on the deep, analytical thinking that comes from truly engaging with literature, history, and social sciences. Rather than seeking quick answers, I help students develop the critical thinking skills to analyze texts, understand historical context, and make meaningful connections between ideas.

History & Social Sciences: I make the past come alive by connecting historical events to current issues and helping students understand cause-and-effect relationships. My economics background also allows me to explain the intersection of political, social, and economic forces that shape our world.
