As an incoming freshman at Vanderbilt University earning a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, I bring over four years of tutoring experience, specializing in English and Math for elementary and middle school students. My background includes working at my high school's writing center, where I guided peers through writing assignments, and tutoring math, which helped me develop a strong grasp of various concepts, including those from AP Calculus. I believe in fostering a supportive learning environment by actively engaging students in the learning process; I encourage them to explain their thought processes and tackle problems independently while providing guidance. My passion for teaching stems from witnessing the growth and confidence in my students as they grasp challenging material. Outside of academics, I enjoy reading and writing, which further enriches my tutoring approach.
