My passion for helping students comes from my desire to provide and serve others. It is a necessary component of life balance and the benefits students can receive from tutoring is advantageous to not only their academic success but it also provides a mentor. My teaching philosophy includes hands-on help with graphic visualizations to better explain topics. Although this is a strong teaching style for me, in my opinion, tutoring should be individualized to each student's learning styles so catering to the unique needs of each student is essential for proper learning. Although I have minimal experience directly tutoring students, many leadership positions have aided in my ability to teach and train others. The subjects I tutor in are psychology, psychopathology, neurobiology, psychopharmacology, and many more neuroscience related topics. With that being said, my favorite subject to tutor is psychopharmacology as I find it very interesting how substances influence physiology and behavior. I obtained my Bachelors of Arts in psychology with a minor in neuroscience at the University of Nevada Las Vegas to where I followed up with a post-baccalaureate internship for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). During my internship at NASA I was able to be a part of an amazing research team that researched and presented the effects of deep space radiation and sleep fragmentation on rodent physiology and behavior. Outside of academia I enjoy spending time with friends and family, exercising as well as playing video games.
