After acquiring my BSBA from Boston University and a few years of work experience, I enrolled in a Master of Science for Quantitative Finance (STEM) at Northeastern University from Sept. 2023 to Dec. 2024. It was here that I worked as a graduate Teaching Assistant (TA) for both undergraduate and graduate students and was chosen by my professor to serve as a peer-to-peer presenter for the MathWorks Lab for FinTech and Quantitative Business Analysis, where I developed a lesson plan for graduate students in the program and conducted a walkthrough of the coding script that applied the concepts from the presentation slides. Concepts I taught as a TA and presenter covered introduction to finance, financial models, multi-variable calculus, stochastic processes, bayesian statistics, etc. While my favorite subjects to explore are calculus and programming, any quantitative material is certaintly in my comfort zone.

As a TA, I found it incredible rewarding whenever I was able to help students grasp concepts that once felt out of reach. Witnessing how I could help transform student's frustration into enlightenment were some of the best moments I've had while tutoring. I view my tutoring style as a team effort rather than a lecturing session. I worked with a diverse student body at Northeastern University and understand that the learning styles and needs of each student vary. As someone who has persevered and achieved academic excellence in spite of an ADHD diagnosis, I especially understand those significant challenges that come along with focus and abstract concepts, and I can help students overcome these difficulties through detailed notes, repetition, and clear examples. I believe it is essential to understand and accommodate for student's individual needs and preferred learning style to be more effective in helping students reach a more thorough understanding of complex or challenging material.
