I'm passionate about helping students build confidence and take ownership of their learning. I have been teaching for 12 years. I have also offered tutoring services while teaching full time for nine years. Most recently, I have taught first grade for nine years. I also previously taught fourth and fifth grade language arts and social studies for three years. I hold a Bachelor's in Elementary Education (PreK-5) from Eastern Kentucky University and a Master's in Teacher Leadership from Midway University. I tutor in phonics, reading, writing, grammar for grades K-5. I also offer tutoring services in math for grades K-3. I particularly love tutoring in phonics and reading, because it is such an important foundational skill, and I love helping kids gain confidence in their reading skills. My tutoring style is patient, encouraging, and personalized.
