I am a recent graduate from the University of Michigan who, after obtaining her BS in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology, spent a year teaching elementary-aged students at an International Baccalaureate school in Shanghai, China. This position expanded on my TEFL certification, as well as my previous years of experience both tutoring and mentoring international and American students from PK to College-level in a variety of subjects, including; ESL, Spanish, STEM, Social Studies, Literacy, and Composition. I have spent several years coaching youth lacrosse teams in both China and the U.S. and enjoy empowering students in their self-guided, unique learning experiences both within the classroom and outside of it. My minor in Spanish language and literature and my background in foreign language learning have allowed me to gain skills in understanding and approaching linguistic comprehension, a personal insight which I avidly apply to guide students in their own language learning. In addition to my endeavors in education, my pre-medical background, which includes MCAT preparation and both clinical and molecular research, has made me familiar with advanced content in the Sciences. My own passion for learning and my unique profile in multiple fields broaden my excitement to share positive, student-centered educational support for others!
