Helping students develop their skills and knowledge is my passion because I firmly believe it is key to creating a better world. Throughout my 11 years of experience working with high school students in Canada and Mexico, I have found immense fulfillment in teaching humanities, social studies, literature, and ESL. My goal is always to ensure that my students reach their full potential at a pace that suits them, allowing for personalized growth and understanding.
My educational background includes a BFA in Media Production and Studies from the University of Regina in Canada, and I am currently pursuing an MBA in International Management and Marketing from California Intercontinental University in the USA. Additionally, I have completed specializations in Mindfulness and Wellbeing from Rice University and in Graphic Design and Branding from CalArts.
My tutoring expertise spans a variety of subjects, including world literature, art history, social sciences, history, communication, artistic interpretation, ESL, and Spanish as a second language. Among these, arts and social sciences hold a special place in my heart. Art, in its many forms, provides a profound way for individuals to express their emotions and perspectives on the world. It is multidimensional, offering endless opportunities for exploration through literature, film, painting, and more.
My teaching philosophy centers on understanding what drives my students and helping them harness their passions to develop their skills. Education should empower students to think for themselves rather than dictate what to think. In my tutoring sessions, I prioritize respect and honesty, fostering an environment where students feel supported and encouraged to explore their interests.
Outside of academia, I am deeply interested in yoga, meditation, hiking, environmentalism, traveling, cooking, and reading. These activities enrich my life and provide balance, allowing me to bring a well-rounded perspective to my teaching and interactions with students. Through my diverse experiences and dedication to helping students thrive, I aim to make a meaningful impact on their educational journeys and, ultimately, on the world.
