A Ph.D. in Mathematics from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, India, M.B.A. from Devi Ahilya University, Indore, India, and Forty-Seven Golden years of teaching experience in three different continents, experience in Engineering and Management colleges have enriched my career. I have been tutoring broad range of Mathematics courses like Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus Business Mathematics, Coordinate Geometry, Linear Algebra, Mathematical Modelling, Discrete Mathematics, Elasticity, Statistics & Probability, Quantitative Techniques and Operations Research. I am most passionate about Algebra, Trigonometry & Calculus.
I prepare my students to develop reasoning, logic and mental rigor which are the three hard core areas on which mathematics is based. To achieve this, I adopt student-centered learning, empathy, and responsible teaching. As a teacher, I encourage student collaboration, build positive relationship with my students, make math relevant and teach my students to be precise in articulating mathematical explanations and vary my Teaching method to accommodate all learners. This has helped my students to qualify for regular and competitive exams. My tutoring style employs the Socratic method. I ask probing questions, encouraging students to think critically about problem solving and therefore learn the material as opposed to just memorizing it. This way they retain the knowledge after putting it down on an exam paper and remain prepared and confident for final exams and future coursework. I offer tutoring for all ages, at all levels of math. My relationship with my students is cordial. Sam Shiv Chaddha joined my evening classes for X grade preparation. I started my teaching career in Rivers State University of Science & Technology, Port Harcourt, Nigeria, West Africa. I was assigned mathematics courses for Engineering, Business Administration and Science students.
In general, students had mathematics phobias. To remove phobia and enhance their liking for mathematics, the Mathematics Department of the University launched an evening program "Better Mathematics" for school education. I participated in the project, and tried to make math stress-free consequently, students developed a liking for mathematics and children from remote areas got an opportunity to appear & qualify admission test. More children from remote areas could start education. This lead to developing my passion for teaching mathematics. I strongly support education to all for improved quality of life, and for this I appreciate my students in Nigeria.
For further advancement, I went to University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, North America, where I taught various courses of Mathematics, and published eighteen research papers in Fracture mechanics in highly reputed International Journals. I attended students during tutorial time to solve their problems.
Since graduation. I have traveled extensively and realized that the young generation is to be exposed to advancement and be equipped with modern technology as it is the Education that unlocks the door of modernization. I always customize my lessons for my students as per the requirement.
On returning to India, I joined International Institute of Professional Studies, Department of Indore University. My emphasis to teach math was to make mathematics job oriented. Students researched and made choices and were benefited to qualify for professional courses which in turn helped them to get placement in top ranked copanies. During my evening sessions, I provided tutoring of math to the School /College students.
Later I worked as Principal in three Colleges of Higher Learning at Lucknow and Gurgaon in India, I have been tutoring students, during the evening sessions, to prepare High School & Intermediate Board examinations, as well as University Entrance examinations. My students found it easier to qualify for the exam, and secured admission in reputable colleges. Arjun Dhaka was one of my students who attended my classes for 3 years. I am glad that he secured a seat in a reputable college. His words are encouraging for many students who joined my classes.
