About Me

My strengths are in getting results on standardized exams and college essays. I am a veteran AP English Teacher and have helped hundreds of students write and perfect their college essays. My students pass their exams with high scores and go on to have successful college lives. Look no further when you are selecting a tutor. In fact, one of the best parts of being a teacher is seeing the light of understanding in a student's eyes, or when a student falls in love with something he or she has learned. In almost 20 years of teaching, I am proud to say I have seen that light thousands of times. I hold both a Bachelor's and Master's of Arts degrees in English (with an emphasis in Medieval Studies) from California State University at Fullerton. I have successfully delivered papers at professional conferences on medieval studies, but I am also a secondary school (middle and high school) English teacher during the regular school months. I am passionate about writing and English. I have taught high school for most of my career, and have been an incredibly successful AP English Literature and Composition teacher as well as a Dual Enrolllment college instructor. My approach to teaching is very targeted. I like to assess students, find their strengths, and find their areas for improvement. I do not believe in lengthy or drawn-out approaches, but rather in timely, goal-specific regimens with clear paths for both the student and parent.
