I graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of the Arts for English and a bachelor of Education specializing in Secondary English. I also have a background in art and worked for five years exclusively as a graphic designer.
As a teacher and tutor, especially at the high school level, I enjoy seeing students finding their own voices and passions. I find that English as a subject is incredibly helpful in this process. It is about more than just finding the correct way to speak or write but about finding the ways in which we can accurately communicate with and understand others.
The subjects I tutor all fall under the English Language Arts umbrella, including creative and essay writing. Although I specialized in Secondary English education I am also adept at middle school and post secondary level writing. Through my Bachelor of Education I have experience teaching in classrooms from grades ten to twelve.
In my spare time I freelance in art and design work as well as on personal writing projects. Otherwise try and keep up with my favorite story telling mediums, film, novels, video games, and Dungeons & Dragons.
