I have taught for 17 years in the Texas public school system. I have a master's degree from the University of Texas at Tyler in Educational Leadership.
I currently teach kindergarten. I have also taught 1st grade for eight years, where I became an expert in reading skills. I enjoy helping students of all ages find their passion for for learning, reading in particular.
I am an expert in helping students with ADD, ADHD, autism, level 3, dyslexia, ODD, and other processing issues not listed. I have spent my career lovingly teaching students how to learn and overcome whatever is hindering their learning in ways they can implement for a lifetime.
As a child, I was a struggling reader until a wise teacher discovered I learned differently than what was the 'norm'. This is what encouraged me to become a teacher. I am proud of my track record of keeping students from struggling like I did and, in turn, learning to become lifelong learners.
