I am a graduate of both Miami University of Ohio and the University of Kentucky. I have a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with an instrumental percussion focus, and a minor in history from Miami University. I also recently received my Masters of Musicology/Ethnomusicology degree from the University of Kentucky. Throughout undergraduate and graduate school, I taught in many different settings, from one-on-one lessons to large group classes. I have taught in person and online to students with various backgrounds. While I am confident in tutoring several different subjects, I am most passionate about music-related tutoring, especially with music history as it most aligns with my own interests. I fully believe that the role of a teacher or tutor should be to support a student in any way that they can so that the student can achieve all their goals. In this way, I focus particularly on making sure that every student has everything they need to succeed and skills they can use in the future to continue their success. Outside of work, I love all things multimedia, reading, and doing yoga at home with my cat.

Hobbies

Academically, I am interested in many historic time periods, types of music, and culture. In particular, I am fascinated with the medieval Era; my thesis focuses on the representation of the medieval minstrel in Robin Hood multimedia. I am currently working on a paper about the implications of masculinity in said depictions of medieval minstrels within Robin Hood films and television shows, which will be presented at the 58th International Congress on Medieval Studies next May. My hobbies are fairly diverse and I frequently find new hobbies that peak my interest. I love to read, watch movies and tv shows, and play video games when I can find the time. I also love to do yoga every day and play Dungeons & Dragons with my friends nearly every week.
