I am patient, enjoy learning, and love helping others, which are all attributes that make tutoring a perfect fit for me. I have over nine years of tutoring experience in a variety of subjects and have tutored students from elementary school, middle school, high school, and college. Furthermore, I have extensive experience (six years) tutoring in the Learning Resource Center at a Private Jesuit High School and am adept at helping students with learning differences including ADHD, EFD, and anxiety disorders. This experience has also helped me fine-tune my ability to aid in homework management and study skills.
This past year, with the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent stay-at-home mandates, I have refined my online tutoring skills and am now proficient at aiding students electronically using online tools and video conferencing software.
I graduated with my Associate of Science degree at the same time I graduated with my high school diploma. I then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Brigham Young University. I love both mathematics and the sciences, and consequently, I excel in tutoring courses such as Biology, Human Anatomy, Physiology, Chemistry, Geometry, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus.
Moreover, I am a skilled writer and I read voraciously. I have always done well in Language Arts and would welcome the opportunity to tutor a student in English, Reading, Vocabulary, or Writing.
I understand everyone learns differently; what works for one student doesn't necessarily work for another, and it is important to be aware that each encounter requires a unique approach.
I believe every student deserves the opportunity to succeed, and through patience, effort, and utilizing the correct tools and resources, it is possible. I would be happy to utilize the skills I have perfected to help your student be successful.
