I am from Michigan originally, but now live in Florida. I did all of my studies in Michigan. First, at Western MI University. There I received a degree in Education with emphasis on special needs students and a minor in English. Then I went to Oakland University and received a Masters degree in Education with emphasis on teaching the Learning Disabled. L.D. in my mind always has stood for Learns Differently. It has been my passion to find these different ways to teach so that all students learn. In Elementary levels it seems that reading has always been most critical. So that is where I spent most of my time. My students always told me that I make reading fun. This attitude spills over to all subjects, Math included! As a retired teacher, I very much miss interaction with students. This platform will give me access and allow me to continue to help students be the best they can be.
