As a rising junior at Rochester Institute of Technology, I understand full well how challenging and frustrating the modern institutionalized educational system can be. You're thrown in alongside hundreds of others and are forced to learn too much, too fast. The goal placed before you isn't so much that you learn, but rather that you get the "top marks:" a 5 on an AP test, an A on an exam, 1600 on the SAT, a 4.0 GPA. So you study and study with the intention of getting those marks and yet you forget most of what you learned immediately after the exam. You might get the score you were told to achieve, but learn little. You earn your place on paper, but are unqualified to actually execute your responsibilities.
It is my intention to change that. As a tutor, I intend to make learning fun, interesting, and personal. I intend to help you build confidence in your education and yourself. I also want to help you develop the skills to learn effectively on your own. Ultimately, though, I want to help you create your own goals, have fun, and actually learn!
