I am thrilled to have the opportunity to help students from outside of my community! I began teaching in 1990 after graduating from Henderson State University with a BSE in Elementary Education, and have taught all subjects in the 3rd and 4th grades, 6th grade World Cultures and 8th grade American History. I obtained a Masters in Science in 2012 from Texas A&M University, Texarkana, with a degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and an emphasis in History. History is my favorite subject and I have tutored students in the subject for over 20 years - especially AP and Dual Credit classes. My undergraduate minor is in English and I have tutored students in subject with success on state standardized tests. I feel it is important to not waste your time during tutoring - I will quickly assess your strengths and weaknesses, identify your problem, provide solutions, and leave you with strategies to help in the future. Organizational and notetaking skills are essential elements for success in lifelong learning and an area in which I excel.

I sing with a local Sweet Adeline's International chorus. I also enjoy scrapbooking, reading, taking photographs, cooking, spending time with my family and our dogs, and being outside.
