I have experienced firsthand how beneficial to education a little bit of help can be. I know how important it is to receive supplemental instruction in a way that is optimal to learning style and pace. My personal experiences shaped a strong desire for me to not only make sure assistance is offered to students, but that their desire to learn is maintained and encouraged and that they are given tools that will help them well into the future. While I completed my undergraduate education at Tougaloo College, where I received a degree in Biology, I had the pleasure of working with amazing peers serving as tutors who helped me with topics that were difficult for me. I also worked as a tutor at a local elementary school during this time, getting a chance to interact with amazing students who were very capable, but needed a bit more time and assistance. During my graduate education at Jackson State University, where I received additional training in biology, I worked as a tutor for college students, offering assistance in various Biology topics and courses. I am currently working on a Doctorate of Medicine. Because of my interest in the biological sciences and my education background, I would like to continue to assist students experiencing difficulty with this field.
