Hello! I am a former middle school English teacher. We relocated for my husband's job, so I am now a work from home parent. While we were in Texas I had the opportunity to complete my master of education degree in curriculum and instruction at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Two of the four years that I taught I focused on reading intervention for seventh graders. I've planned and implemented countless Saturday reading and writing camp tutoring sessions and enjoy the opportunity to work in a more relaxed small group setting using games and less traditional activities. I believe in the potential of every student as a learner, some students just need more support and different resources to be successful. I am credentialed to teach middle school English and ESL in both Texas and South Carolina. I will be getting my early childhood and elementary certifications soon. The state of Texas requires fourth and seventh graders to take a writing state test in addition to the annual reading text, so I'm well versed in preparing students for writing exams. I've led department level, campus level, and district level writing training for teachers. Curriculum planning and development is my passion. I built my own curriculum in my classroom and continue to do so as a tutor, homeschool parent, and homeschool consultant.

I love to be in my kitchen cooking and baking. My husband and I enjoy spending as much time as possible outside with our young son. We go for walks, to the park, camping, and we've started a small garden to get outside. I enjoy spinning and others forms of exercise. I am an avid reader and enjoy reading books that may interest my students so that I can give good book recommendations.
