My classroom teaching career spanned over 27 years with half in early childhood (k-4) and half in middle grades (4 - 8). My bachelor's degree from Berry College prepared me to teach on both levels, and my master's degree from Walden University added knowledge in Literacy- the study of reading and how we learn to read. Utilizing these skills, I taught low level readers in my self-contained EIP (early intervention program) 4th grade classroom as well as in my middle grades remedial reading classes. On the other end of the spectrum, I obtained my gifted endorsement, managed the gifted department, and taught gifted classes at my middle school. I have had the pleasure of teaching at every level- Kindergarden - 8th grade, and even a 9th grade math class. I feel confident that I can address your needs wherever you find yourself in that range.

I love both teaching and learning. My passion is helping students understand material and making breakthroughs where there had previously only been frustration and confusion. My favorite subjects are math and reading. If you can master those, you will control the world!
