About Me

I am passionate about making sure that individuals who have the calling to be a nurse can become a nurse. My nursing education includes graduation from a hospital-based school of nursing and a Master's Degree in Nursing Education from the University of North Carolina - Charlotte. I have a total of almost 30 years of practice and educating nurses on all levels (CNAs to hospital staff) in a variety of settings. I enjoy working with non-traditional adult students who are changing careers and may need that extra attention to get them to their destination. I respect that each learner learns differently, and try to help learners discover their unique learning style. I try to incorporate test-taking strategies whenever I am teaching. The NCLEX (RN and PN) is about deeply understanding the subject matter and being able to apply in in theoretical, real-life situations. This not only requires memorized facts, but includes critical thinking to make evidenced-based care choices.
