Hi, everyone, my name is Raul A Cisneros. I have been a certified teacher for about 10 years. I have an undergraduate degree in finance from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas and two masters degrees. One of my masters degree is in curriculum and instruction in math. The other master degree that I hold is in public administration. In the past, I have been an middle school math teacher and a 4th grade teacher. I have also helped struggling students pass the Algebra 1 state test needed for them to graduate in Texas. One of the things things that drew me into teaching math was the wide range of real world applications that math has across the social sciences. For example, in finance, we use equations to help clients plan their retirements. There are even equations that are used to calculate your monthly car or house payment! As one student put it," There are equations for everything." So, as you can see, equations, along with math can help us make better sense of the world that we live in. This is what I find fascinating about math.
