I am recent Industrial and Operations Engineering PhD graduate from the University of Michigan working in applied operations research in healthcare. I really enjoy mentoring and working with undergraduate and master students on research, coursework or just navigating college and graduate school. Aside from work, I enjoy anything water related in the summer (e.g., swimming, tubing, paddle boarding) and winter sports such as skiing in the winter. I also am a big fan of obstacle course races like Spartan race or Tough Mudder! My additional hobbies include playing piano and action, suspense, or comedy based TV shows, and CrossFit.
I have been tutoring math and science for the past 8 years at various levels to all ages. I have also served as the teaching assistant for both calculus 1 and calculus 2 for two of those years. The discussion sections consisted of 20-30 students where we reviewed all the material and I delveloped/administered quizzes. My tutoring session have also consisted of small group and one-on-one sessions. Additionally, I am College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) certified level 1 and 2.
No matter where in my academic and profession career I continue to be passionate about mentor and tutoring students in STEM. I want to make sure the student learns how the material can be applied in the real world along with how to navigate exams and homework assignments to perform well in the classroom.
