I am a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and I received my Bachelor of Arts in English with a focus on literature and creative writing. Since graduating in 2017, I have started my master's degree in Secondary English Education while also substitute teaching in Richmond City and Henrico County. In my experience, I find that people learn things differently and at different paces; when students struggle with a subject, it's usually because their learning style conflicts with the style or pace with which it is being taught. With tutoring one on one, it gives the student to learn at their own pace. What I love most about working with students are the "aha!" moments when they finally understand what they had been struggling with and seeing students reach their potential.
In my free time, I like going to bookstores and local comic book stores to pick up a new read, playing video games, binging shows on Netflix or Hulu, and spending time in nature for some inspiration for a new short story. I also enjoy musical theatre, finding new music to listen to on Spotify, and playing with my pet cat.
