I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2016 with a BA in Music Theory and a minor in Neuroscience. I am comfortable tutoring psychology and neuroscience, including upper level classes, e.g. autonomic physiology, abnormal psychology.
My tutoring specialty is writing. I can advise on gathering and referencing sources in APA, MLA, and Chicago styles. I can assist with written assignments and presentations, from the planning and development phase, to editing, formatting, and submission.
My second speciality is test preparation. I received a 1520 on the SAT and a 34 on the ACT. I am well versed in these standardized tests and can teach students how to use their time effectively, discern correct answers, and improve their score. I am comfortable providing test prep for high school placement exams, the SAT, and the ACT.
I took 9 AP classes in high school and am comfortable tutoring those courses in which I received a 5, which include: AP Biology, AP US History, AP European History, AP Psychology, AP English Language, and AP English Literature.
I have more than a decade of experience tutoring middle school students, both in arithmetic and algebra, and the language arts.
I am a classically trained pianist who has studied for over 20 years. I specialize in proper playing technique and posture, musicality, and expression guided by the style of the composer. I can work with students of all ages and ability levels, with a specialty in training highly motivated students age 12 and up. I strive to keep students motivated and excited about learning to play the piano.
I am also a trained vocalist. As with piano, my teaching style focuses on technique, artistry, and musicality.
