This year marks my 17th year teaching. I graduated with a Degree in Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of San Carlos, Philippines. Straight from college, I taught Computer Programming and Trigonometry at the University of the Philippines. In 2002, I was given the opportunity to migrate here to the US and teach Middle School Math here in Texas. After 8 years in teaching middle school, I decided to move to teach high school math. I have been teaching Algebra 1 for the last 7 years and currently, I am also teaching Dual Credit Pre- Calculus class through our community college. I also have a degree in Educational Leadership, but had that in the back burner as I continued to broaden my passion for Mathematics teaching. Just this May, I graduated as the Class Marshal of the Class 2017 with a Degree of Masters in Math Teaching from Harvard. I believe that with this generation, It is time to teach our students different avenues in teaching mathematics, so we can tap to their highest potential in learning the subject. We need to spread an uplifting and joyful way of learning and doing math.
