I have a passion for helping students because I have what some may call a "servant's heart." As a student myself, I understand the value of having one-on-one time with someone who's sole purpose is to help you do better. Recently, I have had the opportunity to help students as a teacher's assistant, and I absolutely loved it. It's a reward in itself to see students break through barriers and begin to understand things they previously struggled with. Although I am proudly a Tarrant County College Business Major, my favorite subject to deal with is English, so I tutor in this, as well as beginner's Spanish and Basic Computer Skills. My style of teaching is flexible because I am a visual, auditory and kinesthetic learner myself. I try to feel out which of these will help a student best, and build off of that. My philosophy is that any student can learn to love learning, as long as they have the right motivation to do so.
Outside of school, I like to style outfits on a site called Polyvore. Their online community is amazing, and it's a good way for me to flex the creative side of my brain. I also spend a good amount of time listening to music, and writing short stories.
