I just finished my sophomore year at Dartmouth College and am now taking a year off on medical leave. I had several intensive surgeries my freshman year, and although I physically recovered, I did not fully mentally recover. So, I am taking a year off to gain perspective and spend time doing things I truly love -- like tutoring! I have been a peer tutor since my freshman year in high school. I have developed and taught a "chem for elem" program to local elementary schoolers, taught my high school peers chemistry and U.S. history, and edited many papers. I am currently an RWIT tutor at Dartmouth, where I help my peers with every step of the writing process from brainstorming to polishing penultimate drafts. I tutor because I love intellectually empowering people, whether they are in first grade or seniors in college. I want my students to be as excited about learning as I am, and to believe -- as I do -- that there is nothing they cannot accomplish.
