I am a sophomore at the University of Rochester studying Computer Science and Philosophy.
I have tutored students at the middle school and high school levels in the past, and I will likely hold several Teaching Assistant positions next semester at the U of R.
My favorite subject to tutor is math. While I see a lot of people struggle with math and chalk it up to not being "math people," I think anybody can understand and excel at math if they approach it in a way that they can understand.
I used to consider myself not really a math person until I studied the underlying concepts behind the problems I was having difficulty with. This is consistently the most effective strategy I have used to overcome any obstacles in math or any subject really, and I incorporate it into my teaching style.
Outside of school, I love to cook, and have cooked professionally for a few years now. I also really enjoy drawing, mostly with pencil but lately with other mediums like ink.
I like to read and write as well, and if I'm relaxing I like to watch TV or play video games. My current favorite show is Bob's Burgers, and lately I have been playing a lot of Hearthstone and Overwatch.
