I have a Master of Education degree specializing in Language and Literacy Education from the University of Georgia. I received my Associate degree and Bachelor of Arts degree in English in Taiwan and have been tutoring English as second language to the variety of student from the second grade up to the eighth grade since the age of 18. As soon as I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts, I have confirmed that I have the passion and the strong interest on helping more students to enjoy the fun of learning a different language and use the language as a tool to explore the beauty of the world. Therefore, I decided to presume my Master of Education degree in the United States and get to learn more about diverse language strategies on establishing students' language foundation as well as their confidence. I have volunteered, tutored and taught ESL as well as Mandarin Chinese from the age of 2 up to the age of 20 for 8 years since I entered the graduate school program. I am currently a Mandarin Chinese Immersion lead teacher in a private school.

My teaching philosophy is very simple. I believe that students' learning motivation is determined by how confident they are when learning a new language. It's a very rewarding and meaningful experience for the teacher to see the students' growth by carefully evaluating students' strength and challenges, and then design the appropriate lessons to promote their learning motivation. A quality teaching is determined by the teacher's good decision-making on selecting the most appropriate language and content standard, well-organized lesson plans as well as strategies, and designing the best assessment to measure the language learning performance. Lastly and importantly, I believe that the role of teaching is not as instructor but as a facilitator of learning.
