I'm a recent graduate of Cornell University with a major in Chemical Engineering. I'm strong in Chemistry subjects and can definitely help out with most Math subjects as well, whether it's for the SATs or regular schoolwork. I also used to be a Teacher's Assistant for an introductory MATLAB course in my school and would love to share the knowledge to those who need it. Conversational Mandarin Tutor • +16 Subjects

I am currently an undergraduate student at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. I am pursuing a bachelors degree in elementary education with teaching endorsements in ESL and Mandarin. In high school, I tutored elementary school students in various subjects such as reading, writing, and piano. Oftentimes, I tutored in 2 languages: English and Mandarin because I was living in China. When I entered college, I tutored at an after school homework club at Lowell Elementary School in Wheaton. Most of the students came from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. I was able to learn how to adapt to their learning needs in science, reading, writing, social studies, and spelling. Due to this experience, I decided to attain teacher licensure endorsements in ESL and Mandarin. During this past fall, I teacher aided a fourth grade class at Bower Elementary School. I taught social emotional learning to the whole class. In addition, I worked with students who needed extra assistance in math and reading. These diverse experiences have helped me to develop a passion in tutoring elementary school students primarily in reading and writing. I have especially enjoy sharing and learning cultural experiences from students who come from immigrant and refugee families.I believe that providing widespread educational opportunities for every child is crucial. One of my professors at Wheaton College once said, "Teaching is the profession that makes all things possible." This strongly shows that teaching or tutoring students can navigate them to pursue their passions and talents in ways that suit their experiences and personalities. Without strong support in guiding students, students will not be able to impact the society in unique ways.In my spare time, I enjoy using my passion for languages and diversity to engage in bilingual (English/Mandarin) conversations with friends. I also enjoy reading historical fiction novels and playing classical music on the piano.

I am originally from Whitefish Bay, WI, and moved to the Twin Cities to attend Macalester College. I double majored in Educational Studies and Psychology with a minor in Hispanic Studies. During my time at Macalester College, I studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I took university classes with Argentinians and immersed myself in the bustling city life. Since then, I have travelled several times to Ecuador to visit my husband's family. After graduating Macalester College, I gained years of experience working in the Minneapolis Public School district. I worked at a Spanish Immersion School for five years, and have worked in various capacities in different schools tutoring students in reading and math. Most recently, I have been working with adults as an instructor and facilitator for professional development opportunities.I recently moved back to the Milwaukee area and am looking for tutoring opportunities for learners of all ages. I look forward to sharing my wealth of knowledge, my test-prep tips, and my patient, fun tutoring style with you! (En español, también!)

I have my Master's degree in Environmental Engineering from Syracuse University. I used to be an engineer for a year. Now I am going back to graduate school for Computer Science. I worked for "Say Yes to Education" for a year to help urban high school students to prepare for the SAT test and New York State regents in the Syracuse area. Helping students to work out questions with efficient methods instead of feeding them answers is my teaching strategy. With six years in higher education, I do know how to deliver my knowledge to students smoothly and effectively.I feel comfortable to help you with Algebra 1, Algebra 2, SAT-Math and Mandarin Chinese with professional writing and conversation.

Conversational Spanish Tutor • +31 Subjects

I currently have a Masters of Science of Education in Counseling from Alfred University, NY and Advanced Certificates in Grief Counseling and Play Therapy. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and Secondary Education from Queens College. I have taught Spanish for about 9 years and tutored Spanish privately on and off for about 5 years.I love tutoring Spanish. I know the struggles and challenges that students face when trying to learn another language. I make learning Spanish fun and as easy but always relating new vocabulary and content to everyday life for each learner. I believe that all students have the capacity to learn and do well in a foreign language and that educators should take the time to know their students so that lessons can be tailored to meet their specific and individual needs. All students have different learning styles and I do my best to differentiate my teaching style to accommodate the students that I teach.Aside from teaching/tutoring I love reading, music, writing songs and travelling and exploring different places.I look forward to working with students of all ages and skill levels and to make this learning experience as stress free and comfortable as possible. :)

The journey of discovering, rediscovering, inventing and reinventing myself has begun.I am a rising freshmen at Rutgers University-Camden, majoring in Finance but intensely passionate about all branches of Mathematics. After graduating from high school from India, I started attending Rutgers that has been a major boost to my career path. I am proud to say that I have perfect grades, which means I have a 4.0 GPA until now. I have a top 5% rank in all my classes, and a valedictorian in most of my courses. Deemed responsible, hardworking and ambitious by all my professors, I have received great recommendations from them.I have been tutoring Mathematics to my peers and juniors ever since high school. I am confident that I am a good tutor, since my friends always come to me for help in Algebra, PreCalc and Calculus since they regard my teaching style as easy and interesting. However, I would like to add that I am a pusher- I push myself to the best I can be, and I would push and motivate my students to be their best too.Outside academics, I have a lot of hobbies. I watch TED talks, write computer programs, listen to music and read. I also love roller-skating and ice-skating. I am also passionate about community service and I receive a scholarship from my college for my community service engagement.I would like to believe that I am not afraid to dream big and work towards it fearlessly. If youre looking for somebody who loves what she does and does what she loves, I am a perfect fit.

Learning is an ongoing process. As a tutor it is my goal to help take information and make it "real" for the learner. In this way theory becomes practical information that can help one grow.Aside from helping others understand concepts, I enjoy anime, sports (basketball & skateboarding), and learning new things myself.
