I did not understand the importance of an education until I was in the Marines. I realized I threw away many years and many opportunities. After leaving the Marines I went to college, and I had to start in the lowest level courses. The Marines instilled in me a never quit mentality, so, though the courses were tough, I worked very hard to just get up to speed with other students. I now appreciate the gift and responsibility of knowledge, and what it can do for your life. I believe I should help others find this appreciation, but it will require dedication and time. Together it can be accomplished.
