Give a brief introduction to myself and how I teach. Also, get to know the student's strengths and weaknesses.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Teach the student how to make example problems for themselves to answer.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Remind them about the long-term goal, and encourage them to try their hardest.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
Re-teach them the basic principles of the skill or concept, and then build up from there.
How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?
Read sentences slowly, and stop frequently to understand what was read.
How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?
Relate the subject to something they are familiar with, like a hobby.
What techniques would you use to be sure that a student understands the material?
Create sample tests and questions to prove their understanding.

Give them easy problems in the subject. This way they will not think that they do not know the subject.
