What is your teaching philosophy?
I am highly motivated to teach students in a method that is designed to ensure their success. As I teach students, I often learn things from them to ensure building a rapport that can have a lasting impression.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I will discuss the cause for seeking tutoring and find out if they have any concerns about the subject and quell any potential anxieties as the student and I embark on the journey to success.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
I will provide my students with tools that are tailored to their learning abilities and strengths.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
I will offer activities that involve higher-order thinking skills in order to keep the student engaged in the subject matter.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
Typically in this instance there is a blocker of some sort whether it is the manner in which it is explained or if it were the context of the subject, it would be beneficial to remove the blocker or find a way to work around it in order to achieve success.
