What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy is that concepts and logic, rather than monotonous memorization, develop a more flexible and desirable academic toolkit for students.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
During my first session with students, I like to immediately identify my tutee's priorities and go on from there. Whether it is an upcoming test or a specific subject needed to strengthen, by focusing on priorities I get to communicate the usefulness of tutoring to the student.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
If students learn by concepts and how to use them, it will be possible for them to apply these to other areas somehow related. For example, by learning programming concepts, it is possible to pick up any programming language, because they share similarities in terms of categories and logic principles.
