A published author and freelance writer, I graduated college in 2006 with a double major in Journalism and Contemporary Literature. After college, I moved to Los Angeles where I spent three years at as a Senior Writer at Creative Artists Agency's Intelligence Group, contributing to a daily trend newsletter and quarterly lifestyle consumer trend report. My writing experience parlayed into ghostwriting books for other people and freelance writing for media outlets such as The Huffington Post, USA Today, and Thought Catalog, among others. I spent one year in London writing art reviews for exhibitions at the Tate Modern and Victoria & Albert museum. I live in downtown NYC.

As a tutor, my goal is to implement my experience and passion for reading and writing into each session, pushing students to think outside of the box, fostering their creativity while teaching them to arrange their ideas into a linear, organized concept. My tutoring experience includes working with motivated high school students on various reading, writing, and journalism subject matter, with specific expertise in college essays and essay editing.

What is your teaching philosophy?

My teaching philosophy is to create an atmosphere that fosters learning by engaging in stimulating conversation to encourage students to identify their strengths and think outside of the box with creative thinking in an organized and approachable manner. I treat all subject matter as interconnected, and use my experience and passion for learning to emphasize that all subject matter fits together into a holistic understanding of the world.
