I am a Broadway performer (last seen in Wicked) who also enjoys teaching because it offers purpose for others as well as myself. I am currently enrolled at St. Mary's College of California, holding a 4.0 GPA. While my primary job is performing in New York and across the country, I also have a passion for tutoring, especially to young children and students with disabilities. While living here in the city one of my long-term part time jobs was editing and developing K-8 standardized tests for a private educational company. From this experience, I gained a deep understanding of these tests and how they are administered. Some of my most enjoyable teaching experiences include working with students of all ages in Broadway Master classes. These sessions include theatre education as well as dance and movement. I also have many years of childcare experience with homework help being the core focus.
I particularly enjoy, but I'm not limited to, tutoring in English, Math and Science to primary level students. Aiding children in this age group is extremely important because it is in these early years that the child develops the fundamental skills needed for the rest of their lives. I believe that a strong foundation in all subjects is the key to academic success. In addition, in order to gain this understanding, a child must be inspired and excited while learning. With my extensive arts background, I excel in making the process colorful and fun.
While performing is a large part of my career here in New York, it is also my hobby and my love. Other hobbies of mine include painting, drawing and sculpture as well as the NY Times crossword puzzles.

What is your teaching philosophy?
I strongly believe the 'why?' is just as important as the answer. A student must have a strong foundation in order to excel.
