I am a graduate from the University of Maryland- College Park with a Bachelor's of Science in Chemical Engineering. My strengths are in mathematics and chemistry as I have taken countless courses in these subjects. While in school, these were my favorite subjects to study and were the reason I chose to pursue chemical engineering. I can, however, tutor in various other subjects.
I have worked as an Ambassador for a Math, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) Program. Here I tutored middle school and high school students in those subjects. I have not formally tutored college students. However, I help my fellow college peers with their studies. I am comfortable tutoring students of any age.
As a tutor, my main goal is to guide the student and help them gain confidence and eventually be able to understand the subject without my help. Therefore, my style of tutoring involves teaching the core concept of the subject. I understand that each individual learns in a unique manner, and so I will pay attention to each student and make sure they are receiving the highest quality tutoring service from me. Additionally, as a graduate with an engineering degree, I see how mathematical and scientific concepts can be applied to the real world and why they are useful. Using this knowledge, I can mentor students who are struggling with understanding the importance of those subjects.
In my free time, I enjoy hiking, reading, and spending time with my family.
