After high school, I enlisted in an exchange program in Costa Rica. After completing several semesters of general studies I was presented with the opportunity to study Spanish and Latin American culture in a full immersion program. I moved to Costa Rica and in the next 8 years I ran my own business and graduated from a private local university with a degree in business management with an emphasis in international commerce where I completed all of the courses in Spanish. During my time there I further developed my ability to adapt, an ability that enables me to work very well with people from all different cultural backgrounds.
I have extensive experience tutoring a wide range of subjects from math and statistics to Spanish and English. I have worked with kids from all different backgrounds as well as adults. By adapting my teaching philosophy and tutoring style to each student as an individual, I am able to tailor my styles not only to correspond with the student's learning styles but to harmonize the subject with the student's learning style. For me it is important that a student sees how a topic, whether it be math or language, applies to them in real life.
