I graduated from St Lawrence University in Canton, NY with a BA in English and Government in 2012. I am passionate about both subjects, and highly value the technical skills required to excel in both of them. In addition to tutoring, I also teach horseback riding lessons, where I work one on one with students of multiple ages and skill levels to improve their riding techniques and increase their understanding of and appreciation for their horse. Through teaching riding I have learned that no two students learn the exact same way, and inspiration is essential to success, both in the ring and in the classroom. My favorite subjects to tutor are reading, essay writing, literature, study skills, and standardized test preparation. I also have experience working with high school upperclassmen during the college admissions process, including the admissions essay. I love to learn and I love to teach, and I try to pass my enthusiasm and passion on to my students so they can learn to enjoy subjects that previously intimidated them. In my free time I love to read, write (my preferred genre is creative non-fiction), snorkeling, and horseback riding.
