I graduated from William Woods University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with my Early Childhood Endorsement, and am currently working on my Master of Science Degree in Literacy along with my Special Reading Certificate. This is my fifth year teaching in a public elementary school, where I have taught 4th grade, 5th grade, and title I preschool. I have also tutored students after school in both reading and math. I am a firm believer that the teacher’s role in the classroom is to be the facilitator who guides their students to learn by exploring for themselves, because children learn much more by doing and being active than by listening and being inactive. I also believe that my students should be engaged, active, hands on learners, which is why I try to include as many manipulatives and fun, game-like activities as possible. In my free time I enjoy reading, zumba and arts and crafts.
