I recently moved to Manhattan after graduating from the University of Michigan, where I studied English and Biochemistry. My Honors English thesis received Highest Honors and won numerous awards, and I have an all-A track record in difficult science classes including Chemistry, Biology, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Genetics. I also have a history of success on standardized tests, which I attribute to various test-taking strategies that I teach when helping students prepare for these exams.
I have worked as a trained Peer Tutor at the Sweetland Center for Writing, led a study group at the Science Learning Center, and tutored independently in subjects ranging from Literary Analysis to Chemistry. I have a knack for simplifying complex ideas, whether literary or scientific, and my tutoring style is conversational and engaging, with my first priority always being my students' individual concerns.
