My favorite subject has to be math. It is a language of its own, and not everybody understands it, at first. I would like to help people understand math because it is a subject that, once learned, not only becomes something that will help you in life but something you will love as well.

Im also a part of the honors college at the University, the honors society Phi Eta Sigma, am participating in the new STEM program that allows me to work towards a MBA while completing my undergraduate degree. While finishing up high school I volunteered as a tutor for the AVID program at my school and throughout the past three years have tutored several classmates in a wide range of subjects. While I tutor in several subject areas, my favorite is math. I believe that education is crucial in the world that we live in today, but I also believe that each student is different and learns in different ways. I love showing students how what they are learning now will help them in life and I love finding new ways to teach material, especially if the first way of learning something is not working.
