Hi, my name is Ben and I am a medical student in my final year of training at NYU. I grew up just outside of Pittsburgh, PA, graduated from Penn State University in 2009 with a bachelors degree in Biology, and have been living in Manhattan for the past four years. I currently live in the East Village, a neighborhood packed with coffee shops, bars, live music, and just a generally awesome Hispanic/artsy culture.
Back in college, I served as a teaching assistant and tutor for a Microbiology honors course for Biology majors, as well as an Introductory Biology/Life Science course for students fulfilling their General Science credits. My time spent as a TA included lecture style teaching and overseeing laboratory sessions for a 20-30 student class, as well as small group and one-on-one tutoring sessions.
Next year, I will begin my residency training in Internal Medicine and Neurology, and I am hoping to stay in New York and work at either Cornell, Mount Sinai, or my home institution of NYU.
I am experienced and very capable in helping students out with high school or college-level Biology, Chemistry, Physics, various Math courses, as well as standardized tests such as the SAT or the MCAT. I can also help with essay writing/editing, and anything else involved in applying for a science-related career or further education.
I look forward to the chance of working with you!
