I am a recent graduate of Southern Utah University, where I obtained my Bachelor's of Music in Oboe Performance and my Bachelor's of Science in Theatre Arts. I tutor Music Theory/Music and Theatre. I love helping students reach their potential in their studies, as well as helping them foster an enjoyment for the arts and other subjects. I have mainly taught at summer theater camps, as well as teaching private oboe lessons in pedagogy classes for my degree. I aim to establish a sense of trust between myself and students, as I believe education is best obtained by first feeling comfortable. I want to encourage students to do their best, but I also aim to challenge them to think outside the box and expand their minds. Outside of education and the performing arts, I enjoy spending time painting, practicing yoga, paddleboarding, and reading.

I am a current 3rd grade teacher in Utah. I have been teaching for 18 years. Teaching is my honor and privilege. I do my very best to ensure that every child learns at their highest potential ability. I work hard to make lessons engaging and fun. If something isn't working, we pivot and change. I want all my students to be successful.

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Brigham Young University. Later I earned a Master of Education in education with an emphasis in math K-6 through Southern Utah University. I have taught at the elementary and secondary levels. At the elementary level I taught grades 1-6, and tutored after school in the public school system. On the secondary level I have taught math, science, social studies, Spanish, and art to in a private academy. I tutor English as a second language, phonics, elementary reading, elementary writing, elementary math, elementary science, and elementary social studies. Additionally, I also tutor middle school math, pre-algebra, algebra, and Spanish. My goal is to make learning fun and meaningful. When I am not tutoring, I like to play the piano or organ.

I have been writing, editing, and tutoring professionally for nearly a decade and have had so many experiences working with different types of clients and subjects. After receiving my degree in journalism, I worked briefly as a news reporter and then decided to focus on writing as a hobby in my free time. Since then, I have built a strong portfolio including major academic research projects, business and financial plans, and large-scale editing of novels and legal documents. Currently, I am in graduate school for technical writing and professional communication and am looking forward to working on more diverse and complex projects. Because of my background, I believe that regularly engaging in writing and reading activities helps improve the learning experience. The same skills that are needed to write effectively are the very same that help us learn how to organize our thoughts and put forward good arguments. To be a good writer, you need to really engage with the language, practice writing in different styles, adapt to different ways of thinking about and doing things, and have a strong sense of determination and a desire to succeed. I think that writing is the foundation to successful learning, and I want to help my students refine their writing skills so they can have more engaging and satisfying learning opportunities.

I am a friendly and knowledgeable tutor with a passion for helping others express themselves through writing. I graduated with a degree in English from Southern Utah University (SUU) in 2013. During my final three years at SUU, I worked as an English tutor in the SUU Writing Center. I helped students with a variety of writing needs and abilities. I believe that everyone has something important to say, and being able to express ourselves through writing is one of the best ways to make others listen to us. I can help students mostly with English topics, such as literature, reading, essay writing, and creative writing. I can also help students who are struggling to write an essay for any subject. When I am not tutoring, I enjoy reading, writing, and celebrating as many occasions as I can.

I have a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Communication, with a minor in Psychology. I am currently in a Master's degree for Psychology. I am a part of two national honor societies and will soon be joining my third. Alongside my accomplishments in education, I also am a Certified Speech Writer and will be presenting an original paper at the PCA/ACA Annual Conference this spring.I was an adjunct professor for Communication for two semesters at Southern Utah University and was a Presentation Specialist before that. While adjuncting, I worked as a Student Mentor for the Student Disabilities Center at my University. I also worked as an Academic Coach for an online high school where I met with them weekly on Skype. My Master's thesis was written on student learning. I have a passion for teaching and watching students succeed.

Voice/singing: I have taken private voice lessons for about 10 years. I also grew up participating in school choirs and theater. I have since been coaching people on different medias. My training is in classical and musical theater, but I also enjoy a variety of genres. History and study skills: As a student, I struggled with dyslexia and had to get help through tutoring and other support. I worked hard and accepted all the help that I could get. I was always surprised that I was on the honor roll despite my struggling. I started to notice that some of the best students also received assistance in their learning. Over time, I became one of the best students and was asked to tutor others. I learned that accepting help and aid wasn't weak, but was smart. Over the years I tested different ways of learning and studying to help me succeed. I now have a bachelors in history with a minor in anthropology, and I am earning my masters in museum studies. Other: I've worked for the Boy Scouts, teaching outdoor skills, such as climbing and archery. I have also interned with the Park Service, giving tours and ranger talks to visitors. I am very involved in the outdoors and love outdoor activities. I'm always willing to teach people about the outdoors, how to adventure safely and protect the natural environment and wildlife.

Reading has always been more than just a hobby for me; it's a way to explore new ideas and stories. I love helping students improve their reading and feel more confident with it. I also enjoy tutoring in writing, helping students express themselves and improve their skills. Whether it's reading fluently, understanding what they read, or becoming better writers, I want to make literacy fun and meaningful so students can see it as a way to learn, grow, and discover new things.

My name is Melodi Brooke. I offer assistance with admissions test prep, daily learning, course assignments, writing, and reading skills development. I am open to learners from middle school through college (including those who aren't currently in education). My approach to tutoring is active and student-centered. I am currently a full-time instructor for Grand Canyon University in the College of Education. Prior to joining GCU, I taught high school and middle school English in three districts across the Phoenix area over an 18 year span. While teaching in high school, I had the opportunity to teach writing classes at night at University of Phoenix. I really enjoy helping students with writing. I have a simple way of breaking down the writing process into basic chunks that help students understand and apply these ideas. I've worked with student ranging in ages from 5 to 60 years old in my years of teaching.Personally, my life seems to revolve around sports. I have three teenage daughters who play school and club volleyball, and my wife coaches volleyball. I played football in college and coached at the college level before I began teaching high school. There, I was a varsity football and baseball coach for many, many years. I see a lot of connection between athletics and academics, and I work very hard to inspire all of my students to instill a little competitive spirit in them, so they will work hard to always be their best.

My name is Dillon, and I am a Pre-medical student currently studying at Brigham Young University. I obtained my Associate's Degree from Utah Valley University in 2025 while in high school. I am studying Microbiology and am a Chemistry minor. I love the sciences, specifically Biology and Chemistry. In high school, I enjoyed challenging myself in many AP, honors, and dual enrollment courses and would love to help with those classes. I also enjoy helping students with Spanish, a language I have grown up speaking. Additionally, I was honored to be selected as a Sterling Scholar in the social sciences at my high school. I enjoy learning and teaching those subjects. I specifically enjoyed AP World History and AP United States History. My favorite way to learn is to do practice problems, and I hope to apply that when I am tutoring. In my free time, I enjoy swimming, reading, rock climbing, and pickleball. I grew up and still live in Utah and have enjoyed my time here.

I love teaching and learning! I tutor people of all ages, but I especially love working with children. I have a Bachelor's degree in family life and human development, with a minor in family services. I have experience volunteering in 3rd and 1st-grade classrooms, tutoring a first-grade student in reading, and providing speech therapy services to children ages K-5 in small groups.
