About Me

As an educator with over 25 years of experience, I am deeply passionate about fostering literacy and writing skills in students. I hold a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction and a Master's in Leadership from the American College of Education, complemented by a Bachelor's in Elementary Education from Chicago State University. My expertise spans Creative Writing, English Grammar, and Elementary Reading, where I have successfully developed programs for K-8 students to enhance their writing capabilities. My teaching philosophy emphasizes creating an engaging and supportive environment that empowers students to explore their curiosity and express themselves freely. I take great pride in transforming struggling writers into confident communicators. Currently teaching in Chicago Public Schools, I continually seek new writing techniques to enrich my practice, and I find joy in reading and collaborating with students to ignite their passion for literacy.
