Hello All!I am Ebony Parks and I am an enthusiast when it comes to teaching and learning! I have been teaching for 6 years in Grades 1-4. I understand that every person learns differently and look forward to working with you to help you achieve your goals!

One thing I have learned while working with students is that everyone has their own learning style and different students comprehend the same material in different ways.Thus, my goal is to work with the students and their unique learning styles to hone their study skills, help them understand the concept to detail while also helping them to be better learners and thinkers.

I'm a recent graduate from the University of Washington in Seattle, and I have just begun my Master of Teaching program at Gonzaga University, specializing in Secondary Spanish and Social Studies education. I have known that I've wanted to be a teacher since I was little, and tutoring gives me a great opportunity to practice my teaching skills in a personalized setting. I understand how challenging it can be to start learning Spanish in middle school or high school, since that's when I started learning it myself, but I have many effective (and fun!) techniques that make Spanish a breeze.

I have been teaching and tutoring for more than 22 years. Math has always been my favorite subject. I have enjoyed helping students attain a better understanding of math. I am certified to teach mathematics in both Florida and Maryland. I currently have a B.S. and M.S. in Mathematics Education. I have teaching experience ranging from the middle school to the community college level, as well tutoring experience from the elementary school to the community college level. I work very well with everyone. I am very patient and will take my time to make sure all students have complete understanding of the material.

I have spent more than 15 years in Human Resources and Training and I love it! I am a certified HR Professional through both SHRM and HRCI. I have an MS Degree in Career and Technical Studies from Old Dominion University and Bachelor's in Business Education from NC A&T State University. I have worked extensively with training business professionals as well as high school and college students. I provide career coaching and mentoring to emerging HR leaders and job applicants in career transition. To prepare for HR certification tests, I provide an individualized approach to instruction by first assessing each students' strengths and determining how I can help them grow and enhance their skills. I am a strong advocate for project-based experiences and challenging students to think through practical applications using case studies and research. In my free time, I enjoy volunteering with non profit organizations to provide pro bono HR assistance and leadership coaching. I also enjoy exercising and playing tennis with family and our spoiled rotten Airedale Terrier.

I am a graduate of a private accredited university with both my bachelor's and my master's of accountancy. I hold a CPA and also the CMA. I have taught middle through high school students as well as tutored for preparations on professional exams (CPA & CMA). I want to help anyone eager to learn to help accomplish their career, person, and scholarly goals in any way I can.

I'm 24 years old, from Rockville, MD and I graduated college in 2014 with a degree in Classics from UMass Amherst. I attended Ohio Wesleyan University from 2010 to 2012, but disliked how few subject opportunities were offered at this smaller school.I transferred to UMass Amherst in 2012 for the first semester of my junior year. During the second semester of both my Junior and Senior year I was awarded Dean's List for academic achievement. Additionally, I was inducted into the National Latin Honor Society for continuous academic achievement in my Latin Classes.My coursework in Greek Mythology, Greek Literature, Ancient Technology, Etruscan History, Celtic Archaeology and Greek Civilization allowed me the opportunity to develop excellent research, reading, writing, editing and proofreading skills.I have worked multiple retail jobs in stores such as Guitar Center, Uptown Cheapskate, and The Art of Shaving. However, none of these jobs have allowed me to utilize the skills that I worked hard to develop during my studies in college. As a result, I have sought work opportunities that will allow me to share my love of learning with others.In my free time I enjoy listening to music, reading, watching movies and spending time with friends.

I am a sophomore student at Cornell University, studying Computer Science. I also find Linguistics and Natural Language Processing extremely interesting, and I hope to pursue a minor in them. In my spare time, you might find me singing, reading, or cooking! My passion for teaching has been present for as long as I can remember. My younger brother has a learning disability, and so I have spent most of my life trying to see the world the way he sees it, while letting him into mine. This ongoing experience has given me an appreciation for the dimension and variety that minds offer, and it has taught me that not everyone learns, or thinks, the same way. I hope to provide accommodation and empathy in everything I do, and learn just as much from my students as they do from me! My formal tutoring experience was with refugee students, whom I taught English and math. That exposure gave me an introduction to tutoring those who may not be as comfortable with English, and I built on my skill of speaking concisely and simply when required. I tutor a broad range of subjects, but most enjoy teaching middle and high school English, Social Science, and Math. I am a firm believer in education, and its power to uplift and encourage. This is something that I have seen in my parents' lives, and one that as a college student I am now experiencing firsthand. It is my goal to be of great help to all my students on their educational path!
