I believe everyone is capable of learning. I believe it is the job of the instructor to determine the learning style of individual students and with that figure out the best way to meet the individual needs of a student learners with the end goal being increased understanding and skills in a particular area. I enjoy crafting of all sorts. I scrapbook, sew, crochet, stamp and make my own cards. I love to read. I enjoy spending time with my family and love cats!

I have my Masters in Teaching for elementary education from Meredith College and am very passionate about education. I have experience tutoring in language arts for all elementary ages and middle school.Additionally I have tutored elementary students in math. I recently spent 9 months living in Peru and can understand basic Spanish. I also have experience as a classroom teacher when I completed my student teaching in a 4th grade classroom. I have devoted my life to education because I believe that having an education paves the way for true joy. I graduated from Princeton University in 2015 with a BSE in Chemical and Biological Engineering and a certificate in German Language and Culture. I am currently working towards my MD/PhD degree at Michigan Medical School.I have experience tutoring students of all ages, ranging from 1st grade to graduate school. Before arriving to my current career choice of physical therapy, I did architecture, visual arts, I studied languages (Swedish and Russian, which I now speak fluently), took subjects in the humanities and the sciences, became a Pilates instructor, and also played drums and wrote music professionally! As a result, I can truly get in the mindset of a student who is learning something - NO question is out-of-bounds or silly - it all comes from a place where the mind is trying to incorporate new information. My favorite unit in reading is an author study on Mo Willems( the author of Don't Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus!) We are getting ready for our unit end puppet show. Math is fun when we do our fraction unit! Cutting pizza and candy bars into halves/thirds or whatever and then getting to eat it! My favorite subject to teach is writing!When I am not teaching, I am the day camp director for a country club in our area. We spend our days golfing, swimming, having martial arts, and my personal favorite, Iron Chef.I am so excited to be working with you!
