I mean, I know for sure my parents can attest to the fact there was no end in sight to the amount of "why?" questions I could ask them when I was younger! And even now :)! Nonetheless, this innate drive for learning has not only enhanced my personal growth but has also empowered me to better serve others.On a personal level, I have had my own challenges to overcome. As a late-diagnosed neurodivergent individual, both ADHD and autistic, I know firsthand the difficulties that can arise when it comes to accessing appropriate services, care, and a supportive learning environment. I'm working on my third college degree - a post-baccalaureate degree in computer science. My previous degrees are in engineering and architecture. I will soon have a decade of experience with professors, homework, and tests. And I've been tutoring since the beginning of my college career.I teach for the same reason that I learn - I enjoy it. Every student learns differently, and so everyone I teach pushes me to learn the material in a new way.

I have over six years' experience as an ESL teacher and have taught in Japan, Cambodia, Jamaica, and the United States. I currently work for two online ESL schools, TutorABC and Hujing. First, the underlying equations (or axioms, or vocabulary, or processes) must be understood, preferably on an instinctual level, as it is easier to remember ideas when they make sense at a core level. Then these ideas are applied to the problem, in order to unlock the solution. Generally, when students are having trouble with a problem (or type of problem) there is a non-sequitur somewhere in that process. My job, which is quite fun in this way, is to identify and correct this misunderstanding. One of the best feelings in the world is helping someone see the underlying beauty governing the world and humans. Understanding why and how things work is beautiful.I am qualified in a variety of subjects, as befits my rather bizarre dual degree choice, from AP Computer Science to the Biological Sciences section of the MCAT. And if you need help with your ballet skills, I can definitely help there as well!

I am currently attending Providence college. This year I worked as a teacher's assistant in a inner city classroom. I was able to work with twenty-six wonderful first grade students. In this position I helped children with Special Needs achieve their goals for the academic year. I also volunteered in an afterschool enrichment program for inner city students. In this program I helped fourth and fifth graders with their homework. I also was able to set up many fun group building activities.I love giving back to the community. I have worked with Habitat for Humanity and I am an active member of my school's ESL Club. In ESL club I help adult Spanish speaking students learn the vocabulary they need for their day to day activities. I have also tutored High School and College students in History, English, Spanish, Art History, and Religion. I love being able to find creative solutions to problems. I think that everyone approaches learning differently. In my opinion, teachers need to be flexible and they need to adapt to their students needs. True Learning can only take place when a student feels respected and safe.

I am a recent Tufts University graduate with a major in Philosophy (focus on History and Philosophy of Science), and minors in Physics and Religion. I earned Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and High Honors in Thesis for my 72-page work in the History of Science. I was also a committed Teaching Assistant (TA), going so far as to get special permission to TA Logic as an undergraduate due to my passion for teaching the subject, and participating in cross-departmental Physics-Education studies during my two semesters as a Physics TA.I have always gone above and beyond in my teaching efforts, making sure that the learners not only understand the material, but come away with an appreciation of their own intrinsic worth as thinkers and inquirers.

I have taught freshman writing for 22 years at various universities, including UConn, Temple, and WCU.I enjoy working one on one with students to improve their composition and grammar skills. There is nothing more professionally satisfying than watching students improve their skills over time.Moreover, regardless of an individual's present writing competencies, I am convinced that with effort any student can learn to write well.
