I am a current junior at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. Upon my graduation in 2022, I will be dual majoring in Environmental Studies and Asian Studies with a focus in Chinese. I received the Chinese language scholarship, as well. I have tutored students in Chinese ranging from middle school level through college level. While I am able to tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Chinese, English, and essay editing. My tutoring style is kind and patient, and I do my best to make every lesson engaging and entertaining. I am passionate about helping students, specifically when they are learning a language, because I want students to have the confidence to use a language that could be vastly different from the one's their friends and parents may have studied. This confidence will carry them forward in not only studying said language, but other areas of study, as well. In my spare time, I love to read YA and fantasy books, create wire sculptures, play tennis, and watch movies with my family.

Hello! I am a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelors degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. During my four years of college, I guided K-12 students of the Oakland area in Language Arts and Mathematics and served as a mentor for many high school students. I have also been an undergraduate student instructor for the General Biology lab course offered at U.C. Berkeley, a prerequisite for students wishing to pursue Biology as a major. Since I have a wide range of teaching experiences in both academic subjects and test preparation, I am highly adaptable to different learning styles and cater my teaching methods to meet student needs. Apart from being flexible, I am also very accessible for additional questions or help that is needed. In my spare time, I enjoy baking, exploring my city and watching movies.

I am a graduate of the University of Delaware where I received my Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering. I have worked as a Camp Counselor on various occasions. In these positions, I have taught students basic Chinese greetings and introductions, organized and lead college readiness seminars, and helped facilitate activities at an Engineering camp. While in school, I participated in a month long study aboard program in China. There, I was able to increase my Chinese fluency and experience Chinese culture first hand. I enjoy tutoring Math and Engineering. Even though Math may seem difficult in the beginning, I believe that with proper guidance and determination, anyone can succeed at it. A few of my hobbies include reading, skiing, and arts and crafts such as Chinese paper cutting.

I come from China with an engineering bachelors degree. Currently live in southwest Chicago area(Bolingbrook,IL). I am fluent in speaking and writing in Mandarin Chinese. Proficient in math and science problem solving. I would like to teach people who are interested in learning Mandarin Chinese. I have 5 years experiences in teaching my 3 kids Mandarin Chinese at home. Now they can speak fluent Chinese, the biggest one who now is 6 years old can read and write 50 Chinese words.

I am currently a student at Cornell University. At Cornell, I have maintained a 3.88 GPA and made the Dean's List every semester. I attended a small private high school and graduated at the top of my class with a 4.0 GPA (unweighted). My ACT Composite score was 34, and I am an AP Scholar with Honors.I have developed effective learning techniques and study habits and my goal as a tutor is to pass these skill along to my students. I excel at explaining complicated ideas and problems in easy to understand plain English. On a personal level, I believe in the power of positive thought and I go out of my way to connect with my student and utilize positive reinforcement. I am passionate about teaching a variety of different subjects, including ACT and SAT preparation as well as English, history, economics, and mathematics.

I am currently a Freshman majoring in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. Before attending the university, I went to a high school in Illinois called the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy. There, I served as a Residential Hall Tutor, where I would serve shifts every day and help students in my residential hall who needed help on their homework or help studying for tests. In addition, I was a part of the school's PROMISE program that helped to foster interest in math and science among underprivileged and economically disadvantaged middle school students. I developed and taught curriculum to a group of 20 students.Throughout my tutoring experience, I have enjoyed tutoring math and chemistry the most. In fact, I loved it so much that I chose to pursue a major requiring chemistry.Outside of academics, I like to work out, play basketball, watch tv (especially the Marvel tv series on Netflix), and play video games.

I was born in Sichuan, China and moved to U.S when I was 18. I finished my undergraduate degree at the University of Iowa in double majors of Communication Studies and Japanese. Currently, I am a graduate student in the department of Communication Management in USC. I am specialized in tutoring Mandarin Chinese not only I am a native speaker, also I have four years experience of learning Japanese and one year of speaking basic Korean. I also had tutoring experience in my undergraduate as a hired language tutor.My goal is to create a comfortable studying zone for my students. Depending on every individual need, my teaching technique will also be different. For students who only want to pass the language exam, I will try to meet with them before their exam in order to strengthen their memory. For students who are highly interested in Chinese culture, I will give them some background of Chinese history and culture so as to expand their interests.In my spare time, I like to go yoga class, watch movie, shopping, cooking, and read books. My tutoring schedule is very flexible. I look forward to working with you.
